I can’t believe we’re already into December! If you’re anything like me, you have been getting emails from every store you’ve ever bought anything from in the past week. Everything seems to be a constant reminder you need to buy presents for everyone under the sun and your inbox ends up serving no help in narrowing down what to buy. This year, I’ve narrowed it down for you and come up with a gift guide for every wine lover in your life:
- Wine Fridge: Vivek and I are moving this week (lol to whoever thought moving right after Thanksgiving was a good idea) and we gifted each other a 166 bottle fridge for our new place. For wine lovers in your life who have a more normal amount of wine, this New Air wine fridge should do the trick and has dual zone for reds and whites.
- Wine Glasses: Anyone who does not believe a proper wineglass makes all the difference has never drank wine out of nice stemware. Though I do lust over Zalto glasses ($59 each) and I love the set of Zieher straight glasses ($45 each) I own, most days I drink out of my Aspen & Birch glasses. These are a steal at $48 for a set of 6 and I love the modern design.
- Coravin: If you’re newer to reading my blog, you may not know already that Vivek loves dessert wine. That said, he can’t open a bottle and drink it in one sitting. This is one of the many ways a Coravin comes in handy. Our Coravin model 2 is perfect for when we want to try a bottle to see if it has reached its full aging potential or for days when we only need one glass.
- Decanter: Any red wine drinker, particularly a medium to heavy body red drinker (think Cab or Zin), should own a good decanter to help open up their wine before drinking it. Three I’m eyeing right now? 1) Vspin: this electric decanter spins quickly, to aerate wine in minutes vs hours. 2) Wake up Wine: an electronic decanter that plays music! Similar to the Vspin, this one saves you hours of waiting for your wine to be ready. 3) Sempli: a more traditional decanter, these are gorgeous and some of the prettiest designs I’ve seen.
- The World Atlas of Wine: Like many wine fans, I love Jancis Robinson and think she’s a wine hero. She just released the 8th edition of the World Atlas of Wine and it’s a coffee table book you will actually want to read.
- Home Euphoria Cheeseboard: This Home Euphoria cheeseboard is a definite staple for my mom when hosting. She loves that it includes cheese knives and is super high quality. The new edition of their cheeseboard includes ceramic ramekins – perfect for adding olives or marcona almonds to your board!
- Rewined Candles: Ever smell a good glass of wine and think, wow I wish I could smell this all the time? Maybe just me? Regardless, Rewined candles are wine scented candles that come in several wine as well as cocktail flavors. Best of all – if you use code vinoforbreakfast, you can get these at 10% off.
- Red Car Wine Holiday Set: Red Car is an adorable tasting room in Sebastopol, located in West Sonoma County. In light of the 2019 Kincade Fire, Red Car is donating 10% of proceeds from their holiday gift sets to Corazon Healdsburg to help with fire relief. My gift set pick if I can’t have them all? Has to be the Zephyr farms set that includes their limited production (only 15 cases) 2018 olive oil with a chardonnay and pinot from the same site!
- Menagerie Pourer: I only have the unicorn, but it always makes pouring wine more fun, so I am on the hunt for more for my collection. These are a perfect stocking stuffer and come in many different animals and patterns!
- Wine Club: Want to give someone the gift that keeps on giving? Gift someone you love a wine club membership. This year, in particular, think of Sonoma and helping out a winery that was impacted by the fires. Many of the smaller production wineries lost out on a lot of business with the evacuations and subsequent decline in tourism, so this is a great way to give a gift back to the affected community as well! If you’re looking for a Sonoma County wine club, message me for suggestions 😉
Cannot wait to see what Santa brings you and yours this year, happy shopping!
